1.     1.    Describe your featured media and how it will enhance the user’s life and experience.

The E-Reader electronic book is a program available to be used on many different types of technology like personal computers, smart phones, and certain devices specifically made for the E-Reader programs. The E-Reader program is used to read online books instead of having a paper copy of the book. The e-reader device can load multiple books up at one time, so you can flip back and forth between the books. The product was made for convenience, as you no longer have to have the conventional hard copy book. Specifically Sony company created an eReader that can also double as a music player. This technology could be improved and created into a vast amount of things, making life simpler for the reader.

1.     2.   Outline the elements this invention retrieves from past technologies.

The E-Reader takes the conventional book and turns it electronic. It is basically the same thing as a paper book, except uploaded electronically eliminating the use for paper, and printing books. Many writers nowadays type their books on laptops instead of a conventional type writer, which means having an E-Reader will eliminate the need to print the book off, it can go straight to the E-Reader.

1.      3. State what this new media will obsolesce.

The new media technology will eliminate the need for the use of paper books. This could in turn help the environment and save trees in the process. The E-Reader would take over the need for people to have pages and pages of loose paper, and you could load all-important documents onto the E-Reader.  The E-Reader is all about convenience, as many people would prefer to not have a messy amount of paper and books messed across desks and shelves, it would be much simpler to have one source that branches off into many different important things.

4.     Define what factors this invention will reverse when pushed to its outer limit.

The technology could in turn reverse the interest in using books at all, as people might find it too much of a source of entertainment instead of a useful knowledge tool.  It could be argued that it could be more complex having so many books on one device and people could be overwhelmed with the vast amount of information and be turned off from using this new technology all together.
